Pick a format
- One film: simple, with a clear ending.
- A three-episode block: about an hour and a half, a good fit for a weeknight.
- One episode a week: turns a series into a weekly appointment.
Everyone needs their own access to whatever you watch, so check that before you announce the title.
Agree on subtitles or dub
Ask once, at the start, and stick to the answer. If the room is split, alternate between nights.
Spoiler rules
- If you have seen the show, say so, then stay quiet about what happens next.
- Use the room chat for theories, and don’t answer them if you know the truth.
Snacks and breaks
Decide the break at the start: after episode two, or at the halfway mark of a film. A five-minute pause keeps the whole room fresh until the end.
Let the room choose next time
Before you close the room, ask what comes next and note the answer. A fixed day and a shortlist of titles keep the group together week after week.
